Maiden LMP3 victory for Enqvist !

After having narrowly missed it out in Barcelona, and after having suffered mechanical issues in Portimao, the pair Enqvist-Borga, driving Duqueine Engineering’s number 8 car, concretised the good pace seen since the beginning of the season in VdeV Endurance Series.

Qualified in 4th position after having been frontrunners in Free Practice, Enqvist and Borga took a good start and showed great performance from the early stages of the race. While Enqvist managed to set a competitive and consistent pace in the first two hours, managing nicely his tyres’ degradation, Borga then jumped into the car for the last two hours, taking the lead with just one hour to go.  With a good strategy from Duqueine’s engineers and no mistake or issue in its way, the nº8 was brought safe to the chequered flag after the 4 hours of race, claiming the pair’s first win of the season.

For Duqueine, an exceptional second win in just three races, after Panciatici-Droux-Duqueine had won the 4 hours of Barcelona, showing the team will definitely be fighting for the championship this year. For Enqvist, a first international victory in just his third international race.

The LMP3 VdeV Series’ next event will take place in Dijon, the 23, 24 and 25th of June.
